Spend time exploring the magnificent countryside or take a trip on the famous Settle-Carlisle railway line and visit the likes of Settle and Skipton to take in the Yorkshire countryside before crossing the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. To the west of Appleby is the Lake District whose northern and central lakes are within easy reach, and to the east lie the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders all within easy reach makes any holiday in this wonderful area a memorable one.
