Oak Farm Reviews

James
We all had a fantastic weekend! The hot tub was definitely the highlight for the kidsand there was plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. Great stay overall!
James
This place feels just like home, super comfy and well-equipped for a proper cosy stay!
Emma
Really enjoyed staying here! The place is lovely with good facilities. Loved the canal view, but beware the noise from Derby Road, especially motorbikes-can be a bit loud at times.
Emma
We had a nice stay overall. The house’s multi-level layout is typical for a farmhouse conversion, which adds character. It can get pretty warm in summer with the aga running constantly and outdoor temps hitting 30 degrees, so it’s a bit tricky then. The beds and furniture were comfy, though the twin room is quite tiny-more suitable for small kids. Still, we enjoyed our holiday and would consider coming back!
James
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It’s true that being near the A6 means some early morning truck noise, but honestly, it didn’t bother us much. The best part? We could step outside and start dog walks right from the doorstep - lovely walks along the canal or into the woods. The hosts made us feel genuinely welcome, not just guests paying for a stay. Definitely recommend!
Mr. James
Honestly, the house itself was alright, but the location left a lot to be desired. It’s just metres from the A6, which is noisy and busy with fast trucks and traffic. We loved strolling along the Cromford canal, but crossing the road with a toddler and a dog was a nightmare, so we only managed it once. Maybe we should’ve checked reviews or Google Earth first!
Emma
We loved the house! Fantastic spot with great facilities, from cosy beds to a well-stocked info pack, gamesand DVDs. Everything was spotlessand the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Thanks so much!
Harriet
Beautifully furnished, perfect for special occasions and gatherings.
Emma
This place was fantastic! The house was super spacious, spotlessand comfy. Loved the hot tub and garden. Perfect location too, with Matlock just a short drive for food and drinks. We’d definitely come back!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at the cottage, which was beautifully kept and very well stocked. The location was great, with a lovely 25-minute walk along the canal to Cromford. We managed six walks from the door, though being close to the busy A6 was a bit noisy at times. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Oak Farm!
Emily
We had a fantastic Christmas stay here with a group of 7 adults and our two dogs. The house was really spacious and cosy, especially the three bedrooms which were lovely. The living and dining areas were great for our big groupand the kitchen with the Aga made preparing Christmas dinner so much easier - it was a real highlight! We loved the Christmas decorations and the festive tree. The hot tub and games room added a nice touchand Sky TV kept everyone entertained. The main road was okay, though crossing to the canal was a bit tricky at times, but overall, we had a great time!
Emma
Thanks so much for having us! We really enjoyed our stay - the house felt cosy and inviting, with plenty of great facilitiesand the staff were super friendly and helpful throughout.
Sarah
We really enjoyed our stay at Oak Farm! The rooms were warm and roomy, plus the hot tub and games room were a great touch. The location is perfect for exploring this lovely part of the country. We’re already planning to come back!
Emma
We had a lovely stay at this cottage! The rooms are spacious, with plenty of storageand the beds are comfy. The hot tub was perfect after long walksand the outdoor showers are a clever touch. It’s very secure for the dogs too, which was a relief. The location is great for walks around Cromford and Matlock along the canal - absolutely beautiful. Only downside is the busy 50MPH road right outside with trucks zooming past, which does spoil the peaceful vibe a bit. Still, we’d come back!
Sophie
The house is ideally located for exploring the nearby areas, plus there's a lovely walk along the canal into Matlock. However, it is quite close to the busy main road, which became a problem for us with our two dogs. It was also noisy first thing in the morning due to the traffic. For some, this might not be a concern, but we felt the house didn’t quite meet our needs.
Linda
We had a lovely stay here. The farmhouse was clean, warm, very well equipped and ideal for a large gathering. We made excellent use of the hot tub and the games room which were fantastic features. It's well located for walks along the canal and High Peak Trail, but it might be a bit far to walk to the nearest pubs and shops. Maybe in the summer the road noise could be a bit much if you're sitting out in the garden, but once inside it was hardly noticeable. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!
James
We found it clean and well equippedand the location is perfect for exploring the area! The games room and hot tub are a fantastic bonus. Sure, traffic can be a bit noisy, but we were aware of that from other reviewsand it didn't ruin our experience at all. We did have a hiccup with the aga during our stay, which meant no hot water, but we reached out to the owners and they sorted it out the next day. Such a lovely property.
Mark
What a lovely cottage for a weekend getaway with the family! The games room was a hit with everyoneand our granddaughter had a blast with the toys and books provided. We found it really easy to get in touch with the owners and they were super prompt with their replies.
Emily
This was a fantastic cottage for celebrating a birthday and ringing in the new year! There was plenty of space, so the four couples didn't feel cramped at all. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and having the hot tub and games room was brilliant. The main road can be a bit loud, but it didn't bother our group. Plus, we were right next to some lovely walks as well.
Lucy
What a spacious property right in the heart of the Peaks! It's super close to excellent walks and has fabulous views. The house is located on a busy road, which can be a bit noisy when you're trying to relax in the lovely hot tub, but it didn't disturb our sleep at night. The beds were really comfortableand three out of the four bedrooms are really spacious.
