Cant express how beautiful Holbein is. Gorgeous picturesque setting. Wonderful host who greeted us and even carried our bags up to the lodge. The attention to detail is incredible, so well thought out so you have all your home comforts and more, even down to supplying binoculars so you can enjoy the view. We stayed over New year and I have to say sitting in the hot tub while the wind was howling enjoying a glass of champagne provided by the host was one of the best experiences we have had. Thank you.

The Holbein was the first stay in a pod for me and the dog. It was beautifully constructed, both inside and out and we were sorry to leave. Everything was very clean, and very well fitted out. The welcome pack was very much appreciated thank you! The woodburning stove was the highlight of our stay and very welcome with the cold evenings. The dogbed and bowls was a very welcome surprise and Rex made a beeline for it straightaway. I didn't have the courage to use the hottub nice to get in but not keen to get out, but in summer it will be different. Good, accessible parking. We selected the pod for peace and quiet, and weren't disappointed. Highly recommended and we hope to come back when it gets warmer.

Me and my partner have stayed in many cottages and cabins and this is definitely one of our favourites. Nicola and warren were very hospitable and very helpful if we ever had a question. The area is very private and there is some lovely scenery to look over whilst in the hot tub. We really loved the aesthetic of the place and will definitely be booking to stay here again.

This was our second stay at Holbein in 6 months, the pod is perfect for a nice quiet get away & has everything you could need. Nicola & Warren are the perfect hosts & are always there if you need anything, nothing is too much trouble. The walks around the area are amazing with some breathtaking views & after a day out walking & exploring the area coming back to the hot tub is just what you need, sitting there just listening to all the wildlife around you is a perfect way to end your day. It is safe to say we will definitely be back sooner rather than later

An absolutely fantastic place, secluded, dog friendly. The hot tub was amazing to relax in and watch the night sky. Nicola met us and made us feel very welcome, thank you for the added touches, and the Prosecco was a lovely treat. We hope next time we get to stay for longer.

We had the best time at Holbein it was Amazing. Warren met us and took us up to the pod and was very welcoming. Relaxing in the hot tub in the evening was great with the gorgous views and was so peaceful.The prosecco, milk, biscuits and marshmallows where a lovely treat, many thanks for that.. It's a perfect place to take your dog it's secure,unfortunately our lovely Molly passed away shortly before we were due to take her for our little holiday .We will definitely be booking again. From the moment we arrived until we left, the 5 night break was fantastic. All as advertised. Very relaxing, fantastic views, peace and tranquility. Nicola was always on hand if we needed anything. Thank you for the bubbles, biscuits and eggs Lazing in the hot tub with the amazing views were the perfect tonic after a day of hiking. Great walks on your doorstep. Gentle walk into Matlock took about 30 minutes. Totally enclosed garden allowed Dudley our cocker to roam free. Very comfortable bed. Great spacious shower. BBQlog burner. Well equipped kitchen. Nothing negative to say.

When they say less is more you dont always agree but in this case Nicola & Warren have got Holbein absolutely perfect & spot on & a return visit is definitely on the cards sooner rather than later. Warren and Nicola are amazing down to earth hosts, greeted us at the gate and even helped us with our bags. They gave us a thorough run through of everything and even suggested some local walks. The fresh chicken eggs and milk were a lovely touch. We took our Greyhound Nutty and we're surprised to find the bed they provided was big enough even for her. She couldn't have been happier staying here, don't think she wanted to leave. The pictures don't do the views justice. Sitting in the wood fired hot tub and staring at the landscape as the sun sets was pretty special. There was an abundance of firewood, we didn't even make a dent. Honestly couldn't fault anything, it was a perfect little weekend getaway. We hope to be back soon! Thanks again!!

We had an amazing break at Holbein. Nicola and Warren are incredible hosts with a really strong outlook on being eco friendly. The accommodation is perfect, romantic and cut off from the rat race. We enjoyed the incredible views and lovely hot tub. Especially at night under the stars. They have thought of all the little things Binoculars to watch the wildlife robes for the tub thick fluffy towels a warm welcome and treats. Its secure to let you dog roam. Comfy outdoor furniture to sit and soak the views. It makes the walk up the lane worth it! Great walks direct from the property along the railway line. Hoping to revisit in the future.

We had a really lovely time, the pod was clean and very homely, Nicola made sure we had everything us and our dog needed and was so kind and welcoming. The hot tub is an excellent touch to your stay with amazing views.

What a perfect weeks stay in this beautiful little Pod, even from before we arrived the communication from Warren was perfect, making sure we knew where to go for directions and even preparing the hottub for us when we arrived. When we arrived the owners both greeted us and walked with us up to the pod. The pod is a short walk along a nice trail from the private car park space to the pod. You are completely alone up there, complete privacy and peaceful atmosphere with only nature around to hear. With such beautiful views from the pod and the hottub itself it's just a perfect location. The pod itself was immaculately presented. With some teas and cakes, freshly laid eggs and a bottle of prossecco provided made for an extremely nice touch after a 3 hour drive. There was even a dog bed provided and bowls for our little Jack russell and a dog proof enclosure so you can let them out unsupervised. The pod and hottub are both warmed by fire stoves which I very much enjoyed getting the grips with it and the heating in the pod is very easy to get the pod warm. Cooking and cleaning facilities are incredible and exactly what you need. I would best describe it as its an amazing experience for simpler living but in a luxurious way! We both absolutely loved our stay, the location, the pod and the communication and friendliness of the owners too. We 100 will be back. 5
