Ground floor features a cosy living room with wood burner, leather sofas and a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room. Upstairs you'll find two en-suite bedrooms - one double (4ft 6in) and one twin (2 x 3ft singles). A single bedroom (3ft) sits downstairs. Beautiful little cottage. Great location, friendly owners.Love the little store, with loads of supplies and cds.ThanksThe only thing that was a bit of an issue was the stairs as 2 of our party had mobility issues so the stairs were a little difficult to navigate, there was no downstairs bathroom facilities so had to use the on suite upstairs but the owners are going to rectify this for next season. Otherwise a delightful cottage with a beautiful outlook.

We all loved our stay at Tawny Owl Cottage. There were 3 adults, 2 children and a dog and we were all very comfortable in the cottage. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The love and attention to detail was obvious to see. Having an enclosed courtyard to ourselves was ideal with a dog and a toddler but still had unrestricted views of the beautiful countryside. Our dog loved the easy access to the field behind the cottage and she really thought the whole place was hers and was in her element. The kids loved choosing toys to play with from the store area, kept them well entertained. The owners Karen and Mike are such lovely people and gave great recommendations as to where we could visit and also eat. The Peacock in the village was great for all the family and our dog and the food was delicious and so quick to walk to. The Peacock in the next village Barlow, had a really extensive food menu and was delicious too. Everywhere we went felt so dog friendly and everyone was so lovely too. We had the first experience of picking wildflowers and sunflowers on the edge of the village, which was wonderful. You can get some lovely local produce from the nearby Cutthorpe Creamery Farm Shop. A little further afield we thoroughly recommend a visit to Bakewell nearby too, such a pretty place. All in all we really loved our stay at Tawny Owl Cottage and would love to go back. Such a beautiful place.
