A beautiful stone terraced cottage, in the heart of the village of Chelmorton in the Peak District National Park. Offering a delightful place to stay, this wonderful cottage boasts stone-flagged floors, open stonework to the walls, a 50â€ plasma screen TV, a PlayStation 3 and a Blu-ray/DVD player with a selection of DVD's on offer. Upstairs there is an additional 42â€ TV with a king-size sleigh bed making this the perfect cottage to cosy up in after a day of exploring all the Peak District has to offer. The bedroom window, best known as 'Sunset View' is the perfect place to watch the sun go down on a lovely summer's evening. Outside the cottage, there is a gravelled yard, with garden furniture perfect for all those summer barbecues. 1 Primitive Mews is a fantastic Peak District Cottage, one not too be missed! This property can be booked alongside Refs. 4439 and 4440, together sleeping up to 10 guests.

Amazing break

Currently on our last night here and we really don?t want to go home. The cottage is well presented and so homely. We booked for a week to bring in the new year and do some amazing walks. Unfortunately with the British weather we didn?t get much walking done but absolutely loved snuggling up in this amazing cottage. The kitchen is a little cold but heating is provided which kept it warm. We bought our dog with us and he had the full run of 2 fields to entertain himself. The cottage has one huge bedroom and a lovely bathroom which is perfect for couples. The living room is small with 2 windows for light during the day and plenty of games and dvds to keep us busy on rainy days. We were welcomed with fresh milk and bread and even a selection of chocolates. The cleanliness of the cottage is second to none and we would definitely recommend anyone looking at this cottage to book. We will definitely be returning very soon

The converted barn from the outside looks fine but it is let down by the rotten doorframe to the entrance of the cottage. It was cold there when we stayed and the wind howled through the lack of door frame where it had rotted beyond redemption. The house was warm enough but the owners electricity bill must be huge as the heat is lost immediately unless the hole is blocked which we had to do as our pet dog had to sleep downstairs. The microwave has seen better days as you cannot see the timer gradients as they have been worn away through usage. Moving upstairs the shower room needs to be looked at as when you put the so called power spray on, it waters the floor as does the ordinary shower as the screen is too short to stop the water from spraying the floor. The shelf to the shower unit is hanging off so that was redundant. The bath is shaped at the toilet end thus it makes it very narrow when going to the loo and somewhat difficult to manoeuvre around. The bedroom is very warm and the bed is comfortable but very low as it is a sleigh bed style making it difficult to get out of it. The upstairs bedroom window has a wooden batten screwed to the window frame which I would consider as a fire hazard as well as the downstairs window!!!!! The sofa downstairs is adequate but small and you cannot stretch out. All in all it was a place to put your head down at night and for ?30 a night does one expect more?, yes one does!!!. The rotten door frame did not happen over night and must have been seen by the owners at some time so this lack of attention to detail must be addressed same for the other points raised. The saving grace to our experience of this village is the PUB, the CHURCH INN, very warm with a double sided wood burner ,dog friendly, and good food with good beers and wines. The surrounding area of the village is lovely which gave absolution to the stay here.

We enjoyed the scenery and the the village was very picturesque and very quiet.

Good location to see surrounding towns and villages, excellent local pub the church inn. Furnishings somewhat basic and dated downstairs, after long walks it would have been good to stretch out on a slightly larger sofa but as it says in the title value for the price. useful local guide books in the property.

Very quiet and relaxing. Great local people always felt welcome wherever we went. Cottage was perfect for two people and would definitely stay again in the future.

Lovely character cottage in stunning part of the country. The non contact arrangements worked well, I wanted to be left alone to get on with it. The essential supplies were a nice touch and appreciated.

No 1 was attractive both inside & out and very nicely furnished. The cottage was in a good position for local walks & going further afield. Good road connections to other areas of The Peak District. The owners were very welcoming & helpful. The cottage did not have a garden as such but had a large area & pasture for my dog to safely go in. The car parking was more than ample. Great views from all windows.

So peaceful with walks accessible from the village and others only a short drive away.

The cottage was perfect for a couple's getaway! Comfy furnishings, a big TV to relax at the end of a day exploring and fantastic walking/cycling on the doorstep! Food in the village pub was hearty and well worth a visit! In addition, what set the cottage apart from other stays was the attention to small details taken by the owners. A welcome drink on Friday night to introduce themselves and provide tips on what to do/see, the local OS map which was useful for our day trips, use of their shed to store our bikes and finally as it was Easter, we even received a visit from the Easter bunny! Highly recommended!

I had a lovely birthday weekend here with my husband and dog. The reception from the owners on the Friday evening was really nice. They provided lots of good walks, places to visit etc. Great walks directly from the door so did not need to use the car with the added advantage of an exceptional dog friendly pub 5 mins walk up the hill. This was the smaller of 2 other cottages they have and would definitely recommend the cottages and will hopefully be back.

The parking and garden area was great. The cottage was very pleasant, good sized lounge and bedroom.

just what we were looking for

Chelmorton is a good location to start from, there is nothing in the village except for a nice pub with good food & friendly proprieters.We were allowed in the cottage early as there was no-one in before us owners were very nice & helpful cottage was comfortable tele was a bit "iffy" but no real problem . Plenty in the area to visit .

We went for peace and quiet and that is what we got. Good meals at local pub, handy for getting about, good parking what else do you need?
